Specialist Nursing Services


The RDNS Disability Service provides leadership to the disability sector in the delivery of health support to people with disabilities living in the community. The RDNS Disability Service portfolio was established in 1990 and receives recurrent grant funding from the Office for Disability and Client Services (ODaCS). Services are provided to clients with complex health support needs accessing supported accommodation, respite and day option programs.


A team of (10) Clinical Nurse Consultants, located at Glenside, supports clients with severe and multiple disabilities living within the metropolitan area. In addition the team provide internal and external collegiate support and consultancy around disability health, education and training.


The Disability Service follows an (8) step process to train and assess support workers to perform health related tasks.
